Jazz classes at LʼEcole de danse are high energy, enjoyable classes which focus
on learning fun, new steps and combinations to modern and popular music. The
NZAMD (New Zealand association of modern dance) syllabus is taught from
Primary 1 to Advanced level which includes barre, floor and centre work.
Examinations for jazz are held midway through the year and the second half of the
year is dedicated to the end of year recital. Students must wear black jazz shoes
and black leggings to all Jazz classes.
“My daughter has blossomed under your tutelage. She feels attractive and strong in new ways, and her talent on the netball court is up a level due in no small part to the increased strength, flexibility and discipline brought from her endless dance practice. Thank you.” ~ Mother of student in Pre-elementary Jazz
“My daughter has been dancing with Eriko since she was two years old. She was painfully shy when she started and Eriko worked extremely hard to help her come out of her shell and gain confidence. The dancing and concerts have been the best thing she has ever done to help her shyness. Eriko has infinite patience and is always making the kids the number one priority. Her teaching skills are reflected in the extremely good results that her students get in the dance exams. My daughter loves dancing and especially loves going to Erikoʼs classes, we highly recommend Eriko to anyone wanting their kids to dance in a very positive and caring environment.” ~ Mother of student in Grade 2 Jazz
